Please note that our main office will be open to the public through Friday, June 21st. We will reopen on Wednesday, August 7th. As we approach August, please keep an eye out on our website and social media platforms for important 19-20 school year information.
Finally, please check out the amazing information below about our district wide #LVreads summer program!
Kirby Welsh – Principal
#LVReads is a summer reading program for all students from preschool through high school. The program’s main goal is to create confident and capable readers who find JOY in reading. Components of #LVReads include:
Organized by interest and reading level. Check out special displays at Barnes and Noble in Westlake or Calabasas with these books, and information on our summer reading programs available to our families!
We have created a community calendar that outlines all of the events being held in our local libraries. If students attend four of these great events and fill out our “Community of Literacy Participation Form“, they are eligible to win a brand new book.
We want to encourage our family, staff and secondary students (age 13 and older) to showcase reading and have created a summer social media challenge. You can all participate by posting pictures that celebrate reading and tagging us at #LVReads on FB, Instagram and Twitter. There will be a prize drawing for participation.
We will be offering Read-Alouds at Barnes and Noble on Saturdays from June 29 to August 17 from 2-3, alternating between the WLV and Calabasas locations. We have joined forces with Barnes and Noble for a community program where students can read eight books and earn a brand new book.
The yearbook shipment has arrived! As is our tradition, pre-sale orders will go home with 5th graders on Wednesday, 6/5 and with TK-4th graders on Thursday, 6/6.
We have 75 copies of the Yearbook left! Cost: $55.
Yearbook Committee (Klaudia and Adriana) will be selling the Yearbooks on Thursday after school and on Friday before/after assembly and after school. They will be sold the last week of school as well, while supplies last.
Cash, checks and credit cards are accepted forms of payment. Payments made on pay4schoolstuff.com is also still accepted.
