At Round Meadow, we strive to offer a range of activities to suit your family’s after-school needs and interests: Enrichment with Coach Dante (NEW); Parker-Anderson Enrichment; Social Art Haus – Art, Sketching and Spanish;  Jaxx Theatricals; Piano with Encore Musicians Academy (NEW); Cheer and Fitness with Coach Danni; Homework Club and YMCA.


Listed below are are the fall schedule and information about each of the enrichment programs. A list of Frequently Asked Questions can be found at the bottom of this page.

Enrichment with Coach Dante

Coach Dante, who has more than 20 years of experience in after school enrichment, strives to improve his students’ athletics, social skills, team strategy and sportsmanship.  Basketball: clinic style class focuses on individual fundamentals and organized team play. DynamicSports/FlagFootball: focuses on building strong hand-eye coordination, increasing gross motor skills, teaching strategic thinking and team play. Flag football teaches students the fundamentals required to play and understand the sport.

Parker Anderson Enrichment

NEW SESSIONS STARTS DEC. 2! Parker-Anderson offers educations through hands-on learning for Transitional Kinder through 5th Grade on Tuesdays  (1st thru 5th only) and Thursdays. Enrollment is now open for its 6- to 8-week session starting the week of December 2nd. Registration Now open. Offered this session are:

On Tuesdays (1st thru 5th Grade Only) – TechKids Stop Motion Animation! Have a blast with Stop Motion Animation using clay, Legos, whiteboards, cutouts and more! Storyboard ideas, develop plots, and create unique characters as you bring inanimate objects to life! Each student receives a copy of the collaborative class work at the end of the session. 

On Thursdays – TechKidz Coding Wizards! (TK/K-5th)Create your own animations, programs, and games with MIT’s Scratch, Python, Sploder, and more! Computer programming helps with brain development, math skills, and logic, and is tons of fun!

Social Art Haus – Art, Sketching and Spanish

Kika and Sharmaine Wilsons are a mother/daughter team, who combined, have over 25 years of experience in teaching children from the ages of 3-18. In Art: Students will learn different styles and techniques of painting using acrylics, watercolors, tempura and more. Spanish: In this class, students will have the opportunity to immerse inthe Spanish language and culture. Each class will incorporate art, storytelling, games, music and multimedia activities to learn Spanish in a fun way! Sketching: Students will develop a foundation in drawing skills, learning how to break down objects to their most simplistic forms.

Jaxx Theatricals

Jaxx offers programs for Kinder/TK and 1st-5th Grades. Each will prepare for and performs in Matilda The Musical. Registration is now closed. 

• Kinder/Transitional Kinder on Wednesdays from Sept. 11th to Nov. 13th (11:35am-12:35pm). Showcase on Nov. 13th.

First through Fifth Grade on Wednesdays from Sept. 18th to Dec. 18th (1:00-3:30pm); Tech Week: Jan.6th to 11th; Show are Jan. 10th and 11th.

Inspired by the twisted genius of Ronald Dahl, the Tony Award-winning Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical is the captivating masterpiece from the Royal Shakespeare Company that revels in the anarchy of childhood, the power of imagination and the inspiring story of a girl who dreams of a better life.

Encore Musicians Academy

With Encore Musicians Academy, students learn the fundamentals of music through electronic keyboards.  Included are singing, rhythm, harmony and note reading. Electronic keyboards are provided during class.

Fall 2019 Lesson Plan:  Beginning students will learn keyboard orientation, finger number recognition, tunes on keys for rhythmic reading, development of finger skills and more! Returning students will advance to further music education and keyboard playing.  Students begin with Book One and advance to Book Five throughout each semester.  Students are required to practice at home for advancement.  Final recital is such a great event, don’t miss it!

Music School Calendar: September: 27; October:  4, 11, 18, 25; November: 1, 8, 15, 22; December: 6, 13; January:  10, 17, 24. January 24, 2020: Piano Recital @ 3:30 p.m.

Classes Held:Fridays, 2:45pm – 3:45pm

Cheer and Fitness with Coach Danni

Cheer class emphasizes fitness and cheerleading techniques. Coach Danni will promote teamwork, school spirit and self-esteem. She will teach a dance and multiple cheers, tumbling, and incorporate them into cool routines. The cheer squad will periodically perform at school assemblies and other events throughout the year!

Note: Cheer uniforms for girls & boys will be available for rental and purchase, for an additional fee. Coach Danni will provide information at the first class.

Classes cost $300 (includes registration fee), start the week of September 9th and will run for 14 weeks.

Homework Club

Offered to 1st through 5th Grade, Homework Club provides homework assistance and has open enrollment year-round. Students may sign up for one-, two- or three-hour sessions that begin at 2:45pm. Prices vary depending on the number of days enrolled. Cost includes supervised play for 1stto 3rdgraders on full days (M, T, Th, F) from 2:15 to 2:45. On Wednesday, the sessions begin at 1:00pm. YMCA

The West Valley Family YMCA offers on-site after school care at Round Meadow from the dismissal times for all grades until 6:00pm. Curriculum includes homework time, snack/nutrition, outdoor play, and enrichment classes.

How do I pay? Where do I leave my registration? 

For Enrichment with Coach Dante, Social Art Haus, Encore Musicians Academy; Cheer and Fitness with Coach Danni and Homework Clubplease leave your filled out forms and payments in the PFA Lock Box located in the main office (Homework Club has it’s own box). They may also be given directly to the instructors on the first day of class.

Where are the forms? 

Extra forms for each program are in the hallway outside the main office.

What about Parker-Anderson, Jaxx or YMCA?

For Parker-Anderson, Jaxx and YMCA, please visit their respective websites to register and pay.

Where are the classes held?

Class locations are noted on the schedule above.

How will my child get to the enrichment class?

Kinder/PreK – Immediately following school dismissal times, Kindergarteners/PreK will be picked up from the outside their classrooms by the enrichment teacher who will take roll and then escort them to their class locations.

1st-3rd – At school dismissal time, 1stto 3rdgrade students should go straight to the lunch benches to check in. Students of Coach Dante and Coach Danni will check in with those teachers.  Students of Piano, Spanish, Art and Sketching will be supervised by the campus supervisors and aides. Students may do homework or play in the yard until their classes start.

4th-5th – At school dismissal time, 4thand 5thgrade students should go to the lunch benches. All teachers will meet back at the lunch tables by 2:45 (3pm for Coach Dante)  to take roll and gather their respective students for class.

Kinder/PreKPiano: The Tk/kinder kids will need to be escorted by their parents/guardian to the lunch tables by 2:45 where Mrs. Hano will line up all of the students and will walk together to the MPR.

 
Who will supervise my 1st, 2nd or 3rd grader after school ends at 2:07pm and before the classes begin at 2:45 or 3pm? What will they do?
 
Homework Club, Parker-Anderson, Coach Danni of Cheer & Fitness and Coach Dante will be on site to supervise their respective 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade students on the yard until their classes begin. Students of Spanish, Art, Sketching and Piano will be supervised by campus aides and supervisors. Students may do homework or play on the yard.
 

What are the pick up procedures?

If you are picking up your child at the end of the class, please meet them at the Front Loop where the teacher will be waiting with your child.

All kindergarteners will be at the Kinder gate with the teacher for pick up.

If your child is part of the YMCA, they will be escorted there. If your child is allowed to walk home from school, you must notify the teacher before classes begin.

Important: If one any day your pick up procedures change, please notify the teacher via phone or email before class begins.  Thank you!
